After an early-hours game of pool, Egilio Bueno Jr., 19, brandished what investigators believe was a .380-caliber semi-automatic handgun and fatally shot Rashiem "Rock" Reed in the face.

The prosecutor's office said a dispute over money sparked the shooting, but a witness claimed the murder happened without warning or provocation.

During the memorial service, Reed was remembered for his athletic ability. He was the star quarterback on the Carteret High School football team, and continued his football career with the semi-professional New Jersey Terminators.

For the crime of murder, Egilio Bueno Jr., received a 55-year state prison term.

Reed's cousin, Alexis Beauchamp wears a headband bearing her cousin's photo and the words "R.I.P. Rock".
